But i also like to think of it this way. Right now my kids want me around when they get to be teenagers they are going to tell me to go away so i am enjoying the hovering for now. Because i know real soon my oldest is going to push me away.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6191855643434963173.post-69212403396838083722011-01-12T14:17:28.674-05:002011-01-12T14:17:28.674-05:00I totally agree. She actually gets upset with me sometimes because I'm a little too "laisez faire" for her liking.alyaia75https://www.blogger.com/profile/12426016206260065847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6191855643434963173.post-51175094295990923572011-01-12T09:43:26.515-05:002011-01-12T09:43:26.515-05:00As a 6th grade teacher, I have to take cover from ...As a 6th grade teacher, I have to take cover from "helicopter" parents all the time. It is a shame to see the harm they do to their children. They are teaching them not to be independant. You have to let them stand and fall, pick themselves up and stand tall once more. A hard to do, but needed bit of work for parents to do. Let your children fly!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6191855643434963173.post-91017900747026478722011-01-12T09:18:19.134-05:002011-01-12T09:18:19.134-05:00Thanks Jennifer! But if I had one, I'd probably be a helicopter too.alyaia75https://www.blogger.com/profile/12426016206260065847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6191855643434963173.post-86809593539028010282011-01-12T08:41:20.256-05:002011-01-12T08:41:20.256-05:00I love this post! My Dad calls us 'helicopter parents' because we tend to hover over Gracie. Now, like you, we've gotten much better, but you definitely struck a cord with the post. Thank you!Jenniferhttp://web.me.com/jklumpnoreply@blogger.com
