Thursday Thankful Round-Up

Here's what I've been thankful for this past week. How about you?

Thursday, June 2, 2011
  • Bethany's love of 80's fashions
  • Homemade pizza and bread sticks for dinner tonight turned out great
  • When I left for my walk at almost 10 p.m. it was still not totally dark out
  • Living in a neighborhood where I feel safe walking by myself at night
  • Goody bags from my mother-in-law with all kinds of lovely hand-me-downs
  • 6 more days of school!!
Wednesday, June 1, 2011
  • I bought our annual park passes for our city parks today
  • A little picnic and a little playing at the park with Lucy & Mattie
  • The fact that our city has nicely kept parks for us to use and enjoy
  • That carrot cake I made is gone and I'm not the one who finished it
  • The painting hanging in my dining room that we got in Captiva Island, FL, which makes me think of Captiva every time I look at it
  • Mattie has been going to sleep really easily lately
  • Only 7 more days of school!
  • Bethany & Connor both wanting to stay up and read in bed after I tuck them in
  • Lucy telling Chris and I that she is going to live with us forever
  • Mattie throwing me hugs from across the room
Tuesday, May 31, 2011
  • Chris got the a/c working in the van
  • We got to speech a little early today, so Lucy and Mattie were able to play on the playground for a few
  • Breakfast with one of my best friends this morning
  • Kids behaved at breakfast
  • Pee pee on the potty! (not me...Mattie)
  • Hand me down clothes from Julie (for me!) and leftover Pull-Ups from her youngest
  • I actually made a good dinner utilizing all of our leftover chicken from last night
  • Late night text chatting with my friend Hilary

Monday, May 30, 2011
  • Lovely weather for Memorial Day
  • A nice dinner with Chris's mom and step-dad
  • My first ever made-from-scratch carrot cake came out great!
  • All my kiddies are finally home
  • Watching Chris play Just Dance with the kids

Sunday, May 29, 2011
  • Enjoying Mathilda alone for the weekend
  • Not turning the television on once all day
  • Warmth - let's hope that furnace doesn't have to come back on until at least October!
  • Free literature classics for e-readers
  • Finally getting to wash my hair after getting highlights the other day
  • Hearing Mathilda say "sorry" (after deliberately dropping a DVD behind the couch, that stinker!!)

Saturday, May 28, 2011
  • Having a friend I've known since the 4th grade
  • Graham crackers with strawberry cream cheese...yummy!
  • Fitting into my skinny jeans...couldn't breathe much but they zipped so I can live with reduced oxygen supply for a few hours
  • A fun night out with one of my best friends and all her crazy friends

Friday, May 27, 2011
  • I realized that Connor left his lunch at home this morning before Chris left for work, so I didn't have to load up the girls when I took it to school
  • My kids have grandparents who are brave enough to take them (3 of them at least) up north for the weekend
  • Lots of alone time with Mathilda while the rest of the kids are gone
  • Placing holds on library books...I love that I can go online, choose what I want, they find them and email me when they're ready for pick-up. Any library in the county will deliver to my library for pick-up too - how awesome is that?!
  • I have a nice little stack of 7 books I'm looking forward to reading...1 freebie on my e-reader, 1 to review, 1 from the library, and 4 borrowed = no money spent!

Hi there Alysia, thanks for stopping by my place! We are pretty much neighbors! I live right across the bridge from you and I'm in Michigan every weekend! I love grocery shopping over there, organic stuff is much cheaper across the river!

Well, keep in touch! :)

Hi Nancy, I didn't even register the references to Canada on my 1st visit to your blog. If you think organic stuff is cheap here, I shudder to think how much it must be over there!
