Last month I posted about the awesome box of freebies I received from Influenster, the Naturals Vox Box. I've now had a chance to try all of these products, so it's time to give you a rundown of what I think of them.
Avalon Organics Nourishing Cherry Aloe Lip Balm (retails for $2.99).
This is a nice alternative to the typical Chapstick. It smells really good and goes on nice and smooth. My lips feel soft and I love organic products. I would definitely consider purchasing this myself.
Probar Halo Snack Bar (retails for $1.59)
This basically tastes like a chewy granola bar. I tried the S'Mores flavor, and I didn't think it tasted particularly like a s'more. But I would say it compares, taste-wise, to a typical granola bar that my kids regularly put in their lunch boxes. Its advantage, however, is that it is organic and made with all natural products. I'm not sure how much a box retails for (and I haven't yet looked for them at the grocery store), but depending on the price I would consider buying Halo snack bars for my kids.
Jason Natural Pure Natural Soothing Aloe Vera Hand Soap (retails for $9.49)
I've put this in my kitchen to replace the cheap hand soap I usually use. I love it. I wash my hands quite often, and they don't feel dried up when I use the Jason Natural soap. The price is a deterrent, but the bottle is twice as big as the cheap-o bottle I was using. But I love the use of natural ingredients, especially the soothing aloe. The scent is very mild. I might consider purchasing this soap if I could find it on sale or had a coupon.
Food Should Taste Good All Natural Tortilla Chips (retails for $1.29)
I tried the Multigrain flavor and thought the chips were very tasty and nice and crunchy. I know I've seen these at my local grocery store, and there are other flavors available as well - such as Sweet Potato. I would buy this again, as well as the other flavors.
Juice Beauty Conditioning Lip Color (retails for $18.00)
This is a great lipstick! It's a slim, twist-up style, and I love the color (Fig). The color stays fairly well, and it goes on smooth. My lips feel soft when I use it - never gummy and gross as is sometimes the case with other brands of lip color. And of course I love that it's organic. The price is a little steep for me, but since I really like the product, I would possibly consider splurging.
The Natural Dentist Pleasant-tasting Healthy Gums Antigingivitis Rinse (retails for $6.99)
I don't think I would personally describe this mouth rinse as "pleasant tasting", but after using it a few times I quickly got used to the flavor. Other than the taste, I like this product. My mouth feels nice and clean after I use it, and it contains no alcohol or artificial ingredients. If I found it on sale or had a coupon, I would possibly buy this mouth rinse.
Derma E Very Clear Problem Skin Cleanser (retails for $15.50)
This is a nice facial cleanser with a rather strong scent. My skin feels nice and clean after I use it, but it's felt better. While I will happily use the whole bottle (switching occasionally with another brand), I wasn't blown away by the Derma E Very Clear Problem Skin Cleanser and I don't think I would buy it. I don't particularly have problem skin, but I do have infrequent minor blemishes, and I have not noticed that they've decreased in frequency since using this product. I do love that it's natural, though!
WEN By Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner (retails for $29.95 when sold in set - I only received this item)
I have tried this product before and I wasn't overly impressed then. I know several people who use it and love it though, and I had been wanting to give it another chance. So I started using my free bottle...and I still wasn't impressed. In fact, my hair never felt dirtier and greasier. So I asked around and got some tips. I was told, contrary to common sense, to actually use even more of the product. I was also told to apply the Wen to my hair and massage it into my scalp in sections, instead of all at once. Using these tips has made all the difference in the world! My hair feels great. Maybe it's my imagination, but I even think it might be a little more manageable. There are a couple problems, though. First of all, washing my hair with Wen is quite a time consuming process. I can't do it if I'm in a hurry, that's for sure! I've been alternating with another shampoo and conditioner, and that's working fine for me. The other thing I've noticed is that I seem to have A LOT of hair fall out while I'm using Wen. I'd be interested in knowing if other Wen users have noticed the same thing? Please let me know if you can relate! I might consider buying Wen myself as a splurge.
Thanks so much Influenster for this fun opportunity to try lots of awesome natural products! I had a blast trying everything out, and I discovered some great things.
I received all the products mentioned in this post free of charge for review purposes. I was not compensated in any other way, and all opinions and views are 100% my own.
